Parliament, Sunday, 22 May 2022 – The Ad-Hoc Joint Committee on Flood Disaster Relief and Recovery will start with its official programme on conducting an assessment of the impact of the floods in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), as well as the recovery and relief programme of government.

On Monday, the Minister in the Presidency as well as the Minister of the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, and the Head of the National Disaster Management Centre will brief the committee on government’s recovery plans.

The committee will also embark on an oversight visit to KZN which will start on Friday at King Cetshwayo District Municipality.
