The constitution says that there must be public participation in what goes on in Parliament. After all, the word “Parliament” comes from the word meaning “to speak”.LEARN HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN PARLIAMENT
You, the voter, cast your vote for the political party you felt would best represent your views and concerns in Parliament and therefore your representatives have a duty to promote the policies you voted for. In doing so, they must act in a way that is transparent and accountable.
There are many ways in which to participate in Parliament, including the following:
- Attend Committee Meetings
- Parliamentary Democracy Offices
- Contact your member of Parliament
- Monitor the media
